How we make money

We buy or borrow what we test. Some links pay us a commission, which never changes the pick.

When you buy through one of those links, the retailer pays us a small cut. It costs you nothing extra. Links that pay us are marked Affiliate link, and every post that has them says so under the title.

Every product we mention carries one of these tags, so you always know how we know:

• Field-tested We used it outdoors. The write-up says for how long.
• Researched, not tested We haven't used it. The pick is based on specs and owner reports.
• Updated Oct 2026 A price, spec or pick changed after the post went up.

If a brand gives us gear to review, we say so in the post. If the best option doesn't pay us anything, it still wins.
